Emily Austin

Dr. Emily Austin is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University, followed by a rotating small animal internship at Tufts University. She then completed a residency in small animal internal medicine at Auburn University, where she also obtained a Master of Science degree.
Dr. Austin has a strong interest in all areas of small animal internal medicine, with particular focus on immune-mediated and infectious diseases, hepatology, endocrinology, complex multi-disease management, and geriatric pain management. She is skilled in abdominal ultrasound and a wide range of endoscopic procedures, including bronchoscopy, esophagoscopy, gastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, cystoscopy, and rhinoscopy. She also performs feeding tube placements, bone marrow aspirates and biopsies, and ultrasound-guided sampling techniques.
Committed to excellence in patient care, Dr. Austin values collaboration with primary care veterinarians, specialists, and pet owners to provide comprehensive, informed treatment. She is also deeply passionate about client education, believing it to be a cornerstone of successful outcomes.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Austin enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, hiking, camping, and painting. Her furry family includes an Anatolian Shepherd named Mac, a German Shepherd named Mudd, and three cats: Miles Davis Jr., B.B. King, and Pink Floyd.
