  • JENNIE KASTELBERG

    Practice Manager

    LVT, VTS (Anesthesia/Analgesia)

    Jennie Kastelberg has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) since 2005 and has advanced training in anesthesia. She became a certified Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anesthesia and Analgesia (VTS) in 2010. As a highly trained Veterinary Technician Specialist, Jennie provides exceptional specialized care before, during and after procedures for her patients. She has worked as a Lead LVT in a management role for the past 11 years, with the last 7 being in neurology and neurosurgery.

    When not at work, Jennie and her husband stay busy with their twins Ben and Ava, their German shepherd, Klaus, and two cats, Beans and Walter.

  • PAIGE WOODHOUSE

    Lead LVT - Surgery

    Paige has worked in veterinary medicine since 2006. In 2014, she completed the veterinary technology program at Blue Ridge Community College, becoming a licensed veterinary technician. Since graduating, she has worked with veterinary internal medicine specialists and veterinary surgeons as well as general practitioners. Paige strives to use her knowledge and skills to provide exceptional care for her patients. She feels strongly about using a multi-modal approach to control pain during and after surgical procedures so her patients experience as little discomfort as possible. She also enjoys educating pet owners about their pet's condition to help facilitate a smooth recovery process.

    Paige is from Montross, VA and has lived in Virginia her entire life. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time on the water, hiking, reading and being with family and friends – especially her Labrador, Iris and her cat, Ron.

  • JORDAN SNYDER

    LVT - Surgery

    Jordan has been working in the veterinary field since 2016. She started working as an assistant then went to BRCC and graduated as a LVT in 2019. Since graduation she worked in emergency medicine for a short period, but then found her passion in surgery specialty. Her favorite thing about vet med is that it’s always evolving. She enjoys learning new technical skills and being the best advocate she can for her patients.

    When Jordan is not working, you can find her hanging out with her husband and their rescue dog, Moose. They enjoy live music and checking out all the different restaurants Richmond has to offer.

  • KRISTEN ITA

    Client Service Representative

    Kristen has been working in the animal care field for over ten years. She graduated from VCU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and found her passion for the veterinary field shortly thereafter.

    She shares her home with three cats and her boyfriend. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, going to the beach and spending time with friends and family. Her goal is to make every client and their pet feel a part of our family here at VSH.

  • SARAH HAMMOND

    Internal Medicine Assistant

    Sarah found her true passion for caring for animals at the Humane Society, working in Animal Care and Adoptions. She subsequently had the opportunity to train with our medical staff as an assistant, in addition to adoption counseling. She is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technician Program at Penn Foster. During her free time, she enjoys her fur babies, Chloe the Rottie, her cats, Tanji and Ziggy, and rabbit, Leo. Outside of that, live music and finding new restaurants are her favorite things to do.

  • KATHY FLEITAS

    Surgical Assistant, Technician Student

    Kathy has been working in the pet care field since 2008. She has been a veterinary assistant since 2012 and has experience in surgical assisting as well as general practice. She studied at Virginia Commonwealth University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Pre Veterinary Medicine. When Kathy is not working she is spending time with her fiancé, Daniel and her three dogs, Dustie, Kenai and Tank. She enjoys spending time at the river with her friends and family.

  • KAYLA KUPSELAITIS

    Surgical Assistant

    Kayla has been working with animals since 2016, beginning with doggie daycare and quickly moving on to becoming a veterinary surgical assistant. After dipping her feet into human medicine for few years, she realized her passion is caring for animals.

    Born and raised here in Virginia, she has settled down in Powhatan with her husband, two dogs (Bachelor and Boone), bunny (Honey), and four silkie chickens (Waffles, Chick Jagger, Nugget, and Gen. Tso). She hopes to add more members to her dream farm soon!

    When not at work, you can find her cuddled up with her dogs and reading mystery/thriller novels, participating in local bass fishing tournaments with her husband, creating crafts for her small business, or visiting her in-laws at the shore in Belmar, NJ.
