Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy is an advanced regenerative treatment that utilizes a concentrated portion of the patientβs own blood, rich in platelets and growth factors, to enhance tissue healing and modulate inflammation. PRP is commonly used in the management of orthopedic and soft tissue injuries, osteoarthritis, and post-surgical recovery.
The therapy works by stimulating the bodyβs natural repair processes, promoting angiogenesis, collagen synthesis, and cellular proliferation at the site of injury or degeneration. It is especially beneficial for treating ligament and tendon injuries, chronic joint inflammation, and non-healing wounds. Because PRP is autologous, it carries minimal risk of immune reaction or rejection.
Veterinary applications of PRP include intra-articular injections, treatment of tendon and ligament lesions, surgical site augmentation, and wound healing support. PRP is often integrated into multimodal treatment plans and may reduce the need for long-term pharmacologic intervention or surgical procedures in select cases.
